Singer & songwriter Liz McDaniel is hot on my radar. For the past... four? five? days her songs haven't left repeat. I was lucky enough to see her live, and she's one of those that doesn't sound like her recordings. She sounds better. Melatonin Dreams reaches down through my toes, and Until the Dark Turns to Light is just as haunting & glimmering. Self-taught and self-producing, she's become an incredible inspiration for me. If you're in the mood for something soothing... something Cat Power meets Ingrid Michaelson... you're about to be very happy. She's local. She's brilliant. She's intoxicating. Happy listening!
